I have been on Ancestry this morning 11 20 am  they don't seem to working  if you click on th  BMD the main link,  it just comes up there is no matches    but  I had asked for the year 1919 plus 10 years I all so tried other surnames  and different years  and I tired all the  sections birth death and marriages.

but if you go  on the main search for census's  etc you can get them  but then you have to hunt though everything it throws up    :(

it was working ok for me last night up to 10pm, when I went to bed

... all of a sudden it takes ages to log in and get a screen then it's not the normal screen (tiny writing) and I cant access anything as it is so slow ...

This happened to me this morning too. It was as if their CSS file was missing, so all the formatting and fonts had gone haywire.

It's all back to normal now, but searching for any of the BMD images still returns nil results. Other posters on other boards are complaining about the same problem.

Not sure what I did ??? ???
Went into the tools section ,then into internet options ,then the second one of the settings and changed search defaults.
Thinking about it I had a upgrade shield come up yesterday and it all went wrong from there .
Sorry about the delay getting back to you ....got carried away on the census
This is probably all gobblydegook to anyone with a technical mind(unlike me who is a complete technophobic) but thats all I did.
Sounds like one or two of the other Rc have the same thing
Hope this may help

If you go to england and birth index page and scoll down  you come  a list of years from 1837 to 1983 click on the year you want another page comes up with the month qrts and and the pick the letter of the surname you are in   only just found out myself  you do have to look around a bit for the page you want  but at least you are in  ;D

Off fro a big sulk as I had put aside a couple of hours to have a good search.

If we COULD get into the site we would see that on the http://helpdesk.rootsweb.com/ page there is a message which says

" Over the next few days, we will be moving WorldConnect to a new server. Users may experience slow performance or outages. Updates will be disabled until after the move. We appreciate your patience while this improvement is made."

So I guess we will just have to wait while they 'improve' things.

We shall see  ;D
