Surnames: Skeally; Skealley; Skeealee & Starkinson

Hi There

My 4 x G Grandfather was John Skealley who married Jane Starkinson, 1811 Bradden, Isle of Man.

Five children followed that I know of
John Joseph 1811
Jane 1814 ~ my 3 x g grandma
Elizabeth 1815
John 1818
Patience 1821 all christened st George, Douglas,

I havent come across any Skeally family members so far ~ Jane married George Wood 1834 Bradden, Isle of Man

Anyone interested in this family name or Starkinson?

No   personal    interest    but    the     names    survive   in   IOM   as       Skelly   &    Starkey.

Skeally is manx (see www.manxnotebook.com/manxnb/v08p153.htm) - Starkinson is Norwegian - see marriage Laurence Starkinson to Ann Charles German 15 NOV 1783  LS a native of Norway but no known children except possibly Elizabeth c/o Laurence Hawkins + Ann Charles bapt German 1792-10-14 - there were just 2 starkinson marriages Ann + Jane 1811 + 1812 both at Braddan - borrow the mormon microfilm of parish reg + see if any details (see manxnotebook for film no's etc)

I have Jane Starki(n)son christened St George, Douglas 1784 daughter of Anne Charles & Lawrence Starkison

There is also a Christening or Elizabeth in 1808 mother Jane (father not listed) I wondered if Elliz. was the Illegitimate daughter of Jane who married John Skeally in 1811?
