Thanks for that,

I have just google and it states 392 xvi, s, means no longer physically fit for war service, and the S stands for sickness.
So that explains that, but if I want to view his service record, where do i go?

Thanks

Also, why is there no medals listed as being received, surely he would have had the basic service medals?

Thanks again

Hi
The card you have posted is a Silver War Badge index Card, Not a Medal Index card, He would have join (26/6/1915) the Army Service Corps his army number is prefix with a 'S' this is for the Supply part of the ASC, in 1918 it then became the Royal Army Service Corps.

As he join up in 1915 i would have another look to see if he has a Medal Index Card (MIC).
