Thanks to one and all for the great ideas and restores.  I just could not get any a good contrast on the photograph.  Was the difference in the eyes Mudge otherwise I give up.   

I am going to post a request on the Australian board to see if there is anyone who recognise or could help me find Wm John and wife and to that end I believe David your restore will give the right impact. 

Thanks again to you all for you hard work and I will use these for another format.
