Maxwell
« on: Friday 16 February 07 19:19 GMT (UK) »
The Maxwell family I am trying to trace came down to Salford in Lancashire in about 1860.  John Maxwell was a Joiner/Journeyman and presumably left Perth in Scotland to join the Industrial Revolution.  I am able to trace their ancestry back but am having great difficulty going forward beyond the 1901 census.  Most of the family seem to have disappeared completely except descendent's from one of his sons which icludes me.  Does anyone have any info or can help point me in the right direction forward.
Thanks in anticipation

I have a possible Maxwell connection in the late 1700s in Kirkpatrick Fleming in southern Scotland.  The name changes but the descendants end up in Ardwick, near Salford.  Any interest or use to you?
