The Sunderland Registrars site only has deaths from 1990-2005 at the moment, although it is intended to cover from 1837 eventually.

so where can i find these deaths? do i have to go thro all the deaths on ancestry for a relavent year and hope for the best  :'(

It doesn't take long to search ancestry deaths quarter by quarter over a period of a few years.  Remember that it wasn't long ago that this involved travelling to London and manhandling the very heavy volumes containing these indexes.

Why not volunteer to transcribe some of these indexes?  It takes about two hours to do each 100 names when the originals are handwritten.

i will start looking..watch this space  :D
thanks again  ;D

Good luck Debby

I suggest you don't check too many years in one sitting - it gets really hard to concentrate & you miss them!
