Further to Elwyn's find, there are two deaths for Thomas Newell in https://civilrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/civil-search.jsp, aged 84 and 60 respectively for 1872.

As yet, there are no death records on-line pre 1878 on IrishGenealogy.ie, but hopefully in the not-too-distant future. However, you can order photocopies of the records.

The Thomas Nicholl who died 3.4.1872 in Craignageeragh was the one aged 60.  You can view the original certificate on-line on the GRONI website, using the “search registrations” option:

https://geni.nidirect.gov.uk

You will need to open an account and buy some credits. It costs £2.50 (sterling) to a view a certificate.
