Alexander John Corbett Bandsman in the 75th regt.... (1864) son of Sergeant Major Thomas Corbett

Alexander John Corbett was born on the Island of Ceylon circa 1844

Husband - ALEXANDER John CORBETT and Wife - SARAH JANE

Birth: ?
Christening: 20 AUG 1865 75th Regiment, Stirling, Stirling, Scotland

2. ELIZABETH JANE CORBETT Female
Birth: ?
Christening: 16 OCT 1867 75th Regiment, Stirling, Stirling, Scotland

1. William Henry Corbett   Birth: 27 MAY 1874 , Dublin, Ireland
2. Mary Anne Corbett Birth: 04 OCT 1879 Cabra, Dublin, Ireland

Thank you Monica.... I will see if the births are registered in the Irish GRO and obtain a copy of the birth record....     

  it is the link in the UK I seek

Perhaps someone with access to the UK early census could see if there is any sign of Thomas Corbett.... Alexander John gives Farnborough Hants as his residence in 1864

I had a look at the 1851/61 censuses and couldn't see an entry for Alexander. I'll try the English Censuses and see if I can find him there.

I can see them in 1871 in England:

Alexander Corbett 39, Pensioner, b. Island of Ceylon
Sarah Jane Corbett    28, b. Plymouth (?)
Alexander Jno Corbett    6, Portsmouth
Elizabeth Jane Corbett    4, Shorncliff, Kent
Harriet Corbett    1, Shorncliff Kent

Town: Ince IN Mackelsfield and Manchester Road

Birth places would explain why the births are not showing in Scotland for the first two children, they look to simply have been Christened in Scotland.

This entry on IGI is a possible for Harriet:
