No, none of your information seems to match up. My G-grandfather is rumored to have had a brother, William and most likely would have been born in the 1830's but I have never come across any information of his existence. As far as I know, we have no connection to any Egan's in England. My G-grandfather would be rolling in his grave, if he knew any of his children had anything to do with the English.  :)

My grandmother was Rose Gilsenan Hennelly and my Grandfather Patrick Hennelly.  They had five children and moved to Upstate NY in or around 1958.

Which means, you are most likely the child of either John or Patrick. I talk to your Aunt Mary all the time.

If you are planning to visit the Toorard, Co. Mayo area and you aren't sure of any contacts over there, e-mail me and I can set you up with a bunch of your relatives. I'm sure Delia would love to meet one of her brothers grandchildren.

Hope to hear from you, Mike.

Hi Mike the cottage I live in im told is called Egans cottage we moved here in 2000 and it was a derelict cottage which used to be thatched and the roof had fallen in. We didn’t knock it we wanted to retain its character so restored it and extended. We found the old door key and some shoes in the wall with old bottles and what looks like part of a bedpost. Would love to see a picture of the Egans

Welcome to RootsChat, MMartine  :)

Unfortunately Shrule Egan (the OP) hasn't been online here since August 2011. If he has the same e-mail address he registered with on RootsChat and still has notifications for replies turned on, then he should receive an e-mail to tell him of your posts.

Good luck!  ;D
