COMPLETED Holverstone Parish Records
« on: Tuesday 27 February 07 10:57 GMT (UK) »
Good Afternoon

I am looking for Patterson births and marriages in Holverston for the period around 1800 to 1825.  Has anyone any idea where I would find the records? The LDS only have the census records.  Does it perhaps come under another parish?

Thank you
Kind regards
Jill

Hi Jill

have a look at this site

http://www.origins.org.uk/genuki/NFK/places/h/holverston/

White's Directory of Norfolk 1883
St. Mary's Church was dilapidated some centuries ago, the rectory is united to Burgh-Apton.

And in 1845
The rectory is united to Rockland St. Mary and Burgh-Apton.

If you have any specific names I'll have a look on the Norfolk marriage index

Hello Yokel

Thank you for the information.

I am looking in particular for the marriage of Samuel Patterson and Harriet Money Riches - that I think would have occurred between 1810-1820.  I also wanted to know if Sam had married before because it seems that he should have to fit the children in.  I cannot find Sam and Harriet on the 1841, 51 or 61 although Sam suddenly shows up on the 1871 and dies in 1878 in Terrington St John.  A frustrating family.

Thank you for your help
Kind regards
Jill
