Does anyone know where I could find...
« on: Wednesday 28 February 07 18:02 GMT (UK) »
...burial records for the Ford area? There's a death registered in the Glendale area for a John SMALL Dec 1845 (25 169). I'd like to check if he belongs to the family I am currently tracing.

TIA

Jan,

Have you chosen Ford parish for a particular reason ?
Glendale Reg District also included several other parishes... e.g. Wooler, Lowick, Kirknewton, etc.

On Censuses 1841 and 1851 there were only a handful of males called JOHN SMALL living in Northumberland . You could maybe compare the two sets to see which one(s) do not survive onto C1851 ( you would also have to search C1841 for John Small in Co Durham, as some of those areas in north Northumberland, were regarded as been County Durham (e.g. Kyloe)

According to GENUKI the Ford parish burial registers for 1684-1960 are at Woodhorn in the Northumberland County archives
