I've got a bit further with my research...henry got married as henry owen marke, in 1920, why is he not in the army , as henry ow n marke? Any ideas....anyone...please?

Does the marriage cert give his fathers name and occupation? what did he give as his age? who were the witnesses, there might be a clue there with the extra name?

One possible explanation is that his mother was widowed when he was a boy and re-married a Marke - he used both names on marriage but only gave his birth surname when he enlisted
