Have you looked on the IGI? There are a few Pearsons in Lincolnshire.

Going from what Geoff said about Boothby Pagnell being near Grantham, there is this christening of a Thomas Pearson on 1 Jan 1834 in Grantham, mother Mary Pearson, no father named.

No mention of the middle name Henry though, so perhaps not yours.

Thomas was married according to some of children's birth certificates on 24 May 1865 in Ross, Westland, New Zealand, but I have been unable to locate and get a copy of marriage certificate. Have found  on Familysearch website but for 5 years later i.e. 1870 but do not seem to be able to find anything else about their marriage to be able to get a certificate

He was married to Ellen Trow from Shropshire, and all their children were born in NZ, I have managed to find all of the children's birth dates etc

According to his Death entry, his parents were Thomas Pearson, farmer and Charlotte Pope.  Do not know  of anything else whether there was any siblings etc.

Thank you for your suggestions, yes, I think I might try census lookup  and see what happens there,  as I have been able to find out more about his wife's family that way, it was just the fact that I wanted to find out what the place name should have been.

You have quite a lot of infomation about Thomas. Hopefully he'll be found in some census. Yes, do post a census lookup! If marriage and children happened in NZ, just post what you know about his birth date, location and parents.

If he married Ellen in 1865 in NZ he would have been around 31 - quite old. I wonder if it was a second marriage for him - perhaps he had married earlier in England? Sorry, this just confuses matters, but you never know.

Have you checked the BMD's in NZ (sorry I don't know what resources you have available there)? You could also post a query on the NZ board for a marriage lookup.

Have done as you advised, put up a post for census lookup, so hopefully someone will be able to help.

It may seem that I have alot of information but that is all I know and was trying to go back further etc.

That seems strange that you say about second marriage - there is some secret, that we havent yet been able to find out hence inability to find a marriage certificate for 1865.  But we do know that Ellen had been married before.

I can only see one Thomas/Charlotte PEARSON in Lincs in 1841 and 1851

In 1841 they were young (23 + 22) and childless

In 1851 there was a daughter aged 9.

They lived in Morton (Gainsborough).

1841 is the said to be the first one to be of any use as earlier ones were little more than head-counts.

If he was born in 1834, Thomas should be 7 in 1841 and it would be nice if he was home with his parents and siblings. 

Of course It is possible that Thomas and Charlotte are not from Lincs and married elsewhere. That's why it'd be nice to find them in 1841 (at least we might get an indication of what county they're from, and hopefully the 51 will give even more info.

That sounds intersting that Ellen had been married before - maybe they left their partners and ran off together to NZ.
