Wainbalt House

Can anyone tell me if there are any pictures of the above house?   Ancestor was a police constable in Pyle, Glamorgan and lived there in 1881.

Thanks

Hi

Have you looked at the 'South Wales Police' site?

I read:
'For the first month of their police life the new sergeants and constables of the Glamorgan Constabulary lived in the Bridgend Workhouse. In 1841 the new Workhouse was only 3 years old  ...'

http://www.south-wales.police.uk/fe/master.asp?n1=8&n2=253&n3=329

This is a long time before your ancestor, but I did just wonder if this pattern continued and the building was maybe called 'Wainbalt House'?? (Just a thought.)

I looked up 'Wainbalt ' and found that it was a common mis-spelling for 'Wainblat'. Are you certain that you have the correct spelling?

Good luck!
