Edward Joseph McGuinness
« on: Monday 05 March 07 15:55 GMT (UK) »
Hi

I am searching for the family of Edward Joseph McGuinness who was my Grandfather.

I know only that: -

- he was born on 23 July 1907 in Northern Ireland;
- his mother was named Sheila;
- he had a sister Margaret and brother Patrick who lived in Belfast in the 1940s;
- the family had links to Fermanagh and Clones, Co. Monaghan;
- he was a gunner in the Royal Artillery stationed in Exeter in the 1930s;
- he married Marjorie Barker in Exeter in 1934;
- he was a prisoner of war in Stalag 383 during WW2,
- he died in Oxfordshire in 1981.

I can find no other details about him so if anyone has any information, I would be very grateful.

Kind regards
H

As you know his birthdate, you can obtain either a transcript of his certificate from a site such as Family Ulster, or order a copy certificate via GRONI.

This should give his father's name, if recorded, and a home address.
