"familysearch" updates?

Does anyone know if the information on "familysearch" (in particular the IGI data) is ever updated or added to?

If you go to familysearch home page and click on questions, they answer that it's updated daily  ???

I don't think that the extracted entries on the IGI are are being added to, though this is just my feeling without any facts to back it up. I know that there is an on going project to digitalise the microfilm etc so when that gets released we will be able to see images of the actual records which will be wonderful  :)

No, no mass extractions are being added to the IGI, Church policy is that any and all new mass extractions are added to the Vital Records Index instead.

I didn't know that Guy. It isn't something I check to be honest. Perhaps I should  :)
