Hello,

I am a senior from Nova Scotia, Canada.  I have just joined this site and all is new to me.  Louisa Humpherson is my great aunt and is a sister of my grandmother Julia (Humpherson) Leese.  My grandmother as a young woman worked at "Springfield House" when it was a girls' s school.  My grandmother was house mother.  Great aunt Louisa was married to James Edwards, children were Jessie, Alice, Walter and Mary.  Mary was a very close 1st cousin of my mother's and she was married to Wilfred Henshall.  I can supply more information if you contact me.  0Doris)

Welcome to Rootschat.  How lucky that as soon as you join you find a connection to someone else.

Baudoux has probably come up with Fairlains post when she has been doing a search. That happend a few weeks ago with me.I got a email via another website from a lady who is my children's cousin. She saw an old post of mine on wherever.we cant make contact with each other i have sent her loads of emails via the website but no joy yet.I asked her to join rootschat because it's one of few that allows you to contact your new rellies. If you type in a name from your tree it brings up anything with that name on.Including posts from rootschat. Most have to join Rooschat to make contact. Most of them stay with it :)

The only name I've tried is my missing g.grandad.  As far as I know he only had 3 children, one was my gran and the other 2 didn't have  any offspring, so not surprisingly, I've not had any luck.

No point  googling his wife's name, as I am already in contact with a descendant from her first marriage and she hasn't any info on him either, nor do her parents and parents' cousins, who were friendly with one of g.grandad's sons.

I have sent a message previously.  Don't know as I did it correctly since I am a new member.

Regarding Springfield House and Louisa Humpherson.  Louisa was a sister to my grandmother Julia (Humpherson) Leese.  Grandmother, Julia worked as a young woman at Springfield House, when it was a girls' school and my grandmother was house-mother.  Louisa and Julia were daughters of Thomas & Mary (Hotchkiss) Humpherson.  Other members of the family were: Daniel, married to Sarah Deakin; Emily, married to John Leese; (1st. Alice, died as a child; Amelia married to John Harris:  Mary Elizabeth married to Joseph Hayward;  2nd Alice married to Joseph Dyson;  John T.; Aaron.  Great Aunt Louisa married James Edwards.  Two of their children( a boy and a girl) died at a young age, then there were Alice, Jessie, Walter and Mary. Mary married Wilfred Henshall.  I don't know if my previous message has reached the right party because of me not really knowing how the Site worked, but I look forward to a contact.

Regards,
Doris
