Lewes East Sussex census 1841/51 Please.
« on: Thursday 25 November 04 21:29 GMT (UK) »
:)Alexander Macdougall b.1830 Glasgow --d-1914 Suffolk
*Do not know when he left Scotland.
:)Mary Macdougall b.1800 Glasgow Scotland, d. 1886 Essex.

*In 1852 Alexander started his Unitarian ministry -possibly in East Sussex area.
* Married Fanny Duke in 1860, St.Mary Lewes.
*They are found in 1861 East Sussex census at Pimlico Cottage, with their first child.

*He may have been in East Sussex areas in 1851.

** Since he was just 22 when he began his Ministry in Sussex , his family may have been there as well.Perhaps Aunt Mary.

I do not know his parents names. However ,  Aunt Mary Macdougall was living with him and Fanny in 1871/81 Gosfield Essex census. .
Hope this is enough information,
Thanks in advance,
Keeping my fingers crossed,
Pat

Hi Pat

Have just checked the 1851 census transcription for Lewes for your Alexander.

Unfortunately there is not one single person listed with the surname MacDougall or McDougall anywhere in Lewes.

Sorry to be so negative
