I am looking for any suggestions regarding john william bennett,I know he was born 1875 in warrington but I cannot find him on the 1891 or the 1901 census his parents names were henry and mary,I am almost certain that he did not die before the said censuses as family stories say he emigrated to america but no dates were mentioned, what I am hoping for is that some one might know were I could look to try and find him.
I know this is a long shot but im left with no other alternative.
regards ray

Hi Ray

Was Warrington in Lancashire then?

I always knew of it as in Cheshire but (I wasn't around then  ;) ) and I know they keep fiddling around with the bounderies  ::)

Do you already have his birth certificate?

On the 1881 census Henry is listed as being born Westhead, Lancashire the rest of the family are listed as being born and living in Warrington, Lancashire.

I can't see any of them in later years.  ::)

======================================================

Did a search for Both John W and William J BENNETT

AT:

http://www.ancestry.co.uk/search/rectype/vital/freebmd/bmd.aspx

And only found 3 possibles

(All outside chances but?)

DEATHS:
June Qtr 1885
John William BENNETT (9Yrs) Preston 8e 363

June Qtr 1884
William BENNETT (9Yrs) Sunderland 10a 310

Sept Qtr 1890
William BENNETT (13Yrs) South Shields 10a 378

Any of these are possible, as Henry BENNETT (father) being a Paver could have followed his trade around the Country, alway returning home to Warrington after job was completed: (or, took family with him on final job then embarked at Hull for USA after JW or WJ died)

yes warrington was in lancashire at that time,j.w father remarried and moved to bolton after his first wife died in 1888 his 2 siblings being younger were put in a home in warrington and I think j.w. went to bolton with his father as he doesn't show in the homes register.

hi pegasus sorry for the delay in replying but ive been away until today.
I have henry living with his second wife emma at 39/41 manchester rd ,little hulton ,nr bolton. on the 1891 census.
On the 1901 census it shows emma as working as a domestic servant at the old original halfway house and also living there, she is shown as still married but no sign of henry any where. One other item I have been told by a distant relative that henry and emma had a daughter but ive never been able to find one.
