Sarah Jane Jeffers born County Carlow

Griffiths Valuation (a substitute census) was carried out around Ireland in the very late 1840s to mid 1850s, so varies from county to county.   For Carlow it shows seven Jeffers.  These are just "Head of Households", so there is no mention of spouse or children.

A quick look on google.ie shows the following:-

Thomas Shirley , b. Approx.1823, occupation Hill Farmer, Clogrenane. He married Mary Jane Jeffers , 9 Sep 1868, in Staplestown Parish Church, Co. Carlow,  b. approx. 1851, Co Carlow, Ireland.,  (daughter of Thomas Jeffers and Mary Jeffers ) occupation Farmers wife,  d. 8 Apr 1936, Clogrennan, Carlow, Co. Carlow,  buried: Clody Ch, Clogrennan, Carlow, Co. Carlow.  Thomas died 1 Aug 1900, Clogrennan, Carlow, Co. Carlow,  buried: 5 Aug 1900, Clody Ch, Clogrennan, Carlow, Co. Carlow.  Lived in Clogrennan, Cloydagh. Thomas is buried in the churchyard of Clody Ch Clogrenan, Carlow. inside the ruined walls in the same grave as his wife Mary Jane.

This Mary Jane Jeffers was born approx 1851 - around the same time as your Sarah Jane.  I wonder were they sisters or cousins?

Hi - yes, I thought this might be interesting to you. 

Regarding the search - I typed www.google.ie (the version of Google for Ireland) and then typed in Jeffers Carlow and 1851 (I think).  "Jeffers Carlow" would probably throw up lots of hits, so a year (1851) narrows  the search somewhat.    If this doesn't work, try other years, as I can't quite recall which year I entered.

There are a number of Church of Ireland baptisms in Co. Carlow for the surname Jeffers on IrishGenealogy - but no sign that I see of a good match for Sarah.
