William - that is very kind of you.

Very interesting that you have discovered a descendant of Edward and Mary! This is actually my partner's family, though they feel like mine! I don't know if it is the "done thing" to ask for their contact details? Are they are a member of rootschat? If so they could send me a private message. Just curious to discover the connection rather than fishing for information.

Good luck with your Gas Engineers whenever they tun up (these things are usually a nightmare and a huge expense). Please don't rush to look for this information - whenever is convenient.

Many thanks.

That's wonderful, many thanks Paul.

I don't suppose you have Denbigh births as well by any chance?

I've found the following on the IGI, would like to confirm the details and hope to find the mother's maiden name:

William Ingham
chr 27 May 1817 Denbigh
father Thomas
mother Elizabeth

Sarah Ingham
chr 5 Nov 1821 Denbigh
died 10 Nov 1821 (sad)
father Thomas
mother Elizabeth

I think that perhaps these two children are siblings of the Edward Ingham whose marriage you so kindly found. I have no idea if there were more siblings.

I'd be grateful for any help. Thanks a lot.

Had a look at William and Sarahs Baptisms and the only thing I can add is
on Williams baptism the abode is Back Row and on Sarahs it's Castle Hill.
On both Thomas's occupation is School Master.
Sorry no mothers maiden name.

Paul.

No that is fine Gadget. I did ask if Paul could look up these two children's births. This information actually helps a lot too.

Paul thank you very much for your time.

Now Edward Ingham b 1808 Portsmouth and Mary Hughes bc 1808 were living at "Castle" Denbigh in the 1841 census. No idea if this is the same as Castle Hill where the Sarah 1821 was born and died, but likely to be a big place. I imagine there were not too many Inghams in the area.

However census gave Edward's occupation as boot/shoemaker. Stranger things have happened, but I'm not sure if I feel too happy now about Thomas the School Master, father of William and Sarah Ingham, also being the father of Edward b 1808 Portsmouth. I don't know ... different social class or something.

I am going to Portsmouth now to request PR lookup which may give me Thomas, Edward's father's occupation ... fingers crossed!

Unfortunately after finally getting to the Clwyd FHS Resource Centre, the Fathers names are only included in the Hayes Marriage Index for Marriages in Denbigh after 1837.

It's because Dafydd took the pre-1837  from the OPRs,  William , and if the parents aren't listed on there, there's nowhere else to look, is there?

I think it has to be the baptism registers or nowt, now.
