1841 census lookup
« on: Tuesday 13 March 07 16:13 GMT (UK) »
Hi everyone,

Does anyone have access to the 1841 census for Killeshandra?

I am looking for Rebecca Smith and family. She was born circa 1833 and her father was John Smith.

Thanks very much,

rjcf (Robin) :)

Hiya Robin,

If there's a Rootschatter going to visit the National Archives of Ireland they should be able to assist you.

1841 Census Fragments

The Census returns in 1841 were filled out by the householders themselves, rather than government enumerators.The information supplied was:
name;
age;
occupation;
relationship to the head of the household;
date of marriage;
literacy;
absent family members;
family members who died since 1831;

The Killeshandra returns are the only ones that survived 1922.

Chris

From the 1841 Co Cavan index there are 2 Rebekah Smiths in Foughanvale.
