Fairfield, Hawthorn, Pontypridd

Hi!

My Mum has been talking to her cousin, and he told her that we once had relatives living in 'Fairfield House', Pontypridd. He said there is still a road there with the name 'Fairfield'.

I looked on streetmap.co.uk and found Fairfield Lane, Hawthorn.

I then checked on old-maps.co.uk and discovered that there was a house called 'Fairfield' there, in the late 19th century.

I'm not sure who these relatives are, but I'd like to know more about 'Fairfield' and its inhabitants. This sounds fascinating.

Could anyone enlighten me, please?

I found the same info on Genuki from Post Office Directory, 1871, as well.

But Reverend Williams doesn't ring any bells  with me, unfortunately.

I think, if my relatives were living there, it would have been much later in the 19th century ~ probably even early 20th century.

This looks as if it could be an interesting quest!

Here's a useless bit of info for you Trisha2

In 1881 the Rev David (aged 64, born in London) has a 21 year old wife from Bala.

They were still together at Fairfield House in 1891.

Couple of sevants in 1891.

Perhaps she kept him young! 
I wonder where the link between the house and my family comes in.
