Thank you Sylviaann for the 1888 map, the reason was to see if I could find the church of a (M) 1875 St. James but I lcould not find this church in Crockfords in Edmonton, so I do not know the Street/Road it was in.

Moors,

If you go to the Old Maps site mentioned above. Look at the large image and St. James Church is to the left of the words 'Upper Edmonton'.

Here's a description of it from the 1894 directory. (bottom left column)

If this link does not work, you will have to go through the search engine on this site to find it.

P.S. This link may or may not work for the map image.

Moors,

It is shame you cannot read the old map.

Have a look at this modern map. The red circle is over Claremont Road.
http://www.multimap.com/map/browse.cgi?client=public&GridE=-0.06368&GridN=51.61016&lon=-0.06368&lat=51.61016&place=Claremont%20Street%2C%20LONDON%2C%20N18&db=GB&scale=5000&search_result=Claremont%20Street%2C%20LONDON%2C%20N18&lang=&db=GB&keepicon=true

To the left and slightly up you will see the letters PO and a Primary School marked. On the old map, the church is exactly where the letters PO appear and the school is now a lot larger than on the old map.

From the modern map, it is unclear if the church is still there. It does not appear to be as it should be marked with a cross.

Hope this helps.
