That very though that he may have done a runner crossed my mind but cant find any later Edwards unless he changed his name?

As for the son he also was Edward and went on to marry Ann Walker and have eight children which I have all accounted for.

His dad is a problem, there are only two Edwards around 1830 and only one has a father called Thomas so its almost certain that its the Edward from Kingstone. If this is the case via another tree I can then go back to 1720 ish but I want to be absoloutly certain. I'll find the bugger some how!!!

Definetely need to go in for lots of lateral thinking here!

Firstly, I'd try to find out what becomes of Elizabeth and young Edward in 1861/71 before he marries Ann Walker

Then lets look at Edward's dad - Thomas you say? When did he die? Did he make a will? if so did he make it before or after Edward married/deserted/died/whatever in 1853? Does it give any clues as to his whereabouts? or whether he is in fact dead? I tmay mention his son, or his grandson and give vital clues.

Presumably young Edward's marrraige cert to Ann Walker gives his dad as deceased?

Green - Suffolk
Parker - Sussex
Kemp - Essex
Farrington - Essex
Boniface - West Sussex

I shouldnt think Thomas would have made a will he was a farm labourer as for Edward junior he appears at a hall in brassington in 1871 as a servant but what happened to his mother Elizabeth is a mystery.

Hi,
Edward Fradley Bpt 29.8.1830 Kingston Staffs son of Thomas & Ellen,
there are also a number of Bpt for his siblings all on IGI.

1841 Census Kingston Staffs
Edward age 10 is listed as the oldest child of Thomas and Ellen both aged 30
with their other children John 5 and Eli 2. (these match Bpt on IGI).
Ages for Adults are rounded down in this Census.

1851 & 1861 Thomas & Ellen are still in Kingston with other children, again
matching Bpt on IGI. (1861 Census they are wrongly listed as FADLEY
I have submitted correction)

Edward Fradley in 1851 Census HO107/2010 Folio 57 Sch 6
Banks Farm,  Rocester, (Rocester abt 4 miles from Uttoxeter)
is transcribed as Leadley but it actually states Fradley (Submitted Correction)
He is Servant aged 21  Farm Lab.      Kingston Staffs.

Think this connects Edward Snr. to Thomas & Ellen Fradley.

I have been unable to find Edward Jnr or his Mother in 1861 Census.

This is a long shot but in the Workhouse in 1861 Census
RG9; Piece: 2521; Folio: 75; Offcote and Underwood, Ashbourne Parish, Derbys
There is an inmate:-
Breman, Edward  age 8  born Ashbourne.
He only appears in the 1861 Census, in which your Edward is missing.  Then your
edward Fradley appears in following Census.
If you have no luck in your search may be worth taking a look at the Workhouse Records.

Many many thanks for all your efforts, I have Edward seniors marriage cert so from that it gives Thomas as his father and I have juniors birth cert for 23 Dec1853.
I found junior again in 1871 census at a hall nr Brassington.
I will have to do some work on Edward Seniors wife Elizabeth Oakden who I am told was in the 1851 at Hanging Bridge with her family. I also have a suspicion that Elizabeth may have remarried another Fradley but that also is on the to do list.
Thanks again for your time
Regards

Terry Fradley
