Howkins

Looking for any information anyone may have on a Joseph Howkins, and a Elizabeth Smith living in Slough (Stoke Gardens?) in 1912, when their daughter Lillian Milderd Howkins was born.

I believe that Joseph or at least his family originated in Leicester

H Big (can I call you by your first Name?!)

Have you any more details?  For example, Do you have a profession for Joseph? (sometimes these can run in famlies)

Looking at the 1901 census there are four possible Joseph's born in Leicestershire; but only 1 is single

Joseph Howkins b abt 1893 (Blaby District) living with his parents Fanny M (1869sh) and Joseph 1862ish, they are living at  268 Clarendon Park Road, Knighton, Leicester,  see RG13; Piece: 3003; Folio: 36; Page: 14   His father is a Pressman of Books.

I think that Joseph married in 1892 Leicester district but there is no opposite entry for Fanny on this record on Freebmd (could be Highton but not 100% sure)

More details would help

Cheers
