This doesn’t help much but places him.

The Petty Sessions records have him in Enniscorthy  from 1881. 2 records just show Enniscorthy for residence and then
1890 residence New Street
1901 residence Ross Road - as 1901 census.

This directory - 1885 https://www.libraryireland.com/genealogy/bassett/wexford/enniscorthy-alphabetical-directory.php
has no McCann names in the Aphabetical list but in the business section, has
John Kavanagh Tailor New Street.

What is his father’s occupation on the marriage record?
I can’t see a Wexford record anywhere for William Flack the witness.
I wonder if the parish record of the marriage might be more informative.

Going by other records i think he was born in 1860 meaning hes 21 in the earliest petty records, so im guessing hes not from enniscorthy. I hoped the origional poster of this thread might have said he was a cousin or brother of his mccanns but sadly not.
On the wedding cert hes described as a labourer.
Some of the older people in town say he may have had a northern accent and the only actual record i could find for an aidan mcann was a gravestone in fermanagh with just a name on it.

Looking into william flack, got several hits between 1850 - 1890 but all seem to be Northern based. Might be an interesting lead to follow. Thanks for pointing this out.
