Nothing there to indicate regiment Julie  :(

Could this be George Newcomb again? There is a passing resemblance.
The medal ribbons look like QSA & KSA (Queens South Africa & Kings South Africa)

Hi  :)

I've got to agree with Neil, this looks very much like a younger version of George complete with medal ribbon, with the exception of the LSGC (as he is still a young soldier on this photo).

It looks like he is serving abroad judging by the white skin towards the top of his brow.

i'd hazard a guess at a pre WW1 regular soldier in his tropical uniform but there's not a lot more than that i fear

ok harribobs,

many thanks, i think we'll ahve to wait until we get this cert...to be able to find out much more, and hopefully if the medal card thing has his service number on, then she should be able to get his records? and therefore find out where he was posted abroard?

many thanks

Julie
