1851 census - details  same as above post.

John Whitfield, h. mar. 64, Lead Ore Miner + Farmer of 30 acres, b. Cumberland, Alston
Hannah, wife, mar. 61, b. Northumberland, Allendale
Hannah, dau. unm. 24, Farmers daughter
Matthew, son, unm. 21
Elisebeth, grandau. 4

All born in Allendale unless otherwise stated. The enumerator looks as though he has ditto'd all the birthplaces, but corrected the birthplace for John to Cumberland, Alston.

Kind regards,

Pels

Hi Pels
Thanks for the 1851 census for Whitfield and so fast
That was great as John & Hannah are Edward's parents so that answers two questions
Thanks a lot

Hi Aimee,

Here they are in 1841:

HO107/837/34, folio 11, page 15
Parish of Allendale, Westallen High
Broadlee

John Whitfield, 50, Lead Ore Miner
Hannah, 50
Edward, 20
John, 15
Phillis, 15
Hannah, 12
Matthew, 10

According to the enumarator they were all born in county.

Family living next door:

Walton Whitfield, 20, Lead Ore Miner
Jane, 25
Henry, 4
Mary, 1

Jane and Henry not born in county. Hoping this will help.

Pels :)

Hi Pels
Thanks for the 1841 census
I am doing this for a distant relation and not sure of the Whitfield family so she will be pleased as she did not have any idea who was in the family
Thanks a lot
