Cable ship 'Lady Carmichael'
« on: Monday 19 March 07 14:56 GMT (UK) »
I am trying to find a picture of the cable laying ship 'Lady Carmichael' later renamed the 'Alert 1'. She was owned by the Post office and was a 760 ton Paddlesteamer, she ran out of Dover and was sold out of service in 1915, both my grandfather, Jesse Chapman, and his father Robert Chapman were crew members. any information would be of help. I have got all the info I can find on Google.
Thanks
Malc. :) :) :)

Have you tried the photographic collection of the National Maritime Museum?
