Can anyone identify this medal please..
« on: Monday 19 March 07 16:39 GMT (UK) »

   Hi all.....

I have a photo on the restoration page of my Great grandfather Richard Samuel Liscoe. It was taken around 1917/1918 and shows him wearing a medal but in his civvies.
Can anyone tell me what medal it is as we have not got it in our posession.

He was in the Kings Royal rifle corp from 1914-1920, but whilst recovering from a gas attack in France was home on leave when his wife suddenly died.
My grandfather was b 1903 so would think he was 13/14 in the photo.

    It can be seen here.......

Hi

The Rifle Brigade badge has a laurel scroll around it.  Certainly this is the case between the years 1903 - 1958.

Could the badge possibly belong to the 'original' Buckinghamshire Regiment, what do you think!

  Hi Atom.

Well his medal card is for the Kings but yep that one is also similar. He was London born and bred though and not one of my Bucks rellies. All of the family that went to war on my Liscoe side thankfully all returned so it isn't from a fallen sibling either. I will have to have a go at resizing the image and see if it shows more.
