Tracing LYNCH, and ASTLEFORD - Modified
« on: Tuesday 20 March 07 14:55 GMT (UK) »
I am trying to find out anything at all about Ellen (Eleanor) LYNCH born c1834 County Clare, and her husband John ASTLEFORD born c1832 who emigrated to South Australia on the Marion in 1854 from County Carlow - according to the Passenger Records.    I know this is not much to go on, except that ASTLEFORD is not a common name.

Anything you could provide would be greatly appreciated.
Jeenie.   :)

We have just received the 28Mar1854 Marriage Certificate which states that in the Town of Carlow Ellen Lynch, Dairy Maid of full age, father Thomas Lynch farmer, married John Astleford, Labourer, father John Astleford farmer, and at the time both Ellen and John were living in Banigagole [Bannagagole ?] in the Parish of Old Leighlin County of Carlow.

I know that this is practically no information, but maybe it might ring a bell, in one way or another, with someone ??    ???

NB - Ellen was Roman Catholic.
