i have tried different web sites but cant find a wedding for Elizabeth Hathaway in 1885 in birmingham could some body look it up for me  to see who her parents were to see if she is on our tree

Here is the reference - the marriage found is in Walsall, not Birmingham

thanks for that is there any way of finding who her parents were. i know nothing about her after 1881 so i didnt know if she got married or not. i wondered why she stayed in walsall and the rest of the family moved to Wales.

You say you know nothing of her after 1881, does that mean you have her on earlier census's, if so please post the references.

hi i have her in 1861 as a 4 year old child living with parents at 139 Hatherton Street Walsall, dont have anything for 1871 but in 1881 she is in the work house in walsall as a inmate. Address of work house was Pleck Road Walsall. that any good both times she is called Eliza not Elizabeth so i dont know

William Hathaway 34 a Saddler B Staffs
Mary wife 30
Eliza dau 11
Frederick son 15 months

I will now try to find them in 1881.

I cannot find either Wm, Mary or Fredrick in 1881 only the Eliza you found in the workhouse.

The family  in Wales in 1891 and  1901 is not the same family as Wm Hathaway b 1836 the Saddler. , I found this family in 1871    a Wm Hathaway 35 a Tin Roller, wife Mary 34 various children including a JOSEPH aged 2 months in  Walsall.

I don't think the marriage that was found of Elizabeth Hathaway is yours either as this family also had a daughter Elizabeth so it may be her.

 Elizabeth born 1862,, William born 1864 and Arthur born 1868  are the children from the other  John Hathaway's  family,  the Tin Roller not the Saddlers.

We now know that your Eliza parents are William and Mary, to be continued
