Looking to confirm details of the murders of Caroline and Maria Back near to Shornecliffe Camp.  Dedea Redaines (Switzerland John) apparently hanged on New Year's Day 1857.

Most useful are refs. to newspapers reports of case - trial and, especially, executions (title of newspaper, full date and page number, please...If unpaginated, please count).

Hi Roly

I have read the story of these murders in various books and as I understand it, the dreadful deed did, in fact, take place in the Capel-le-Ferne area - quite some way from Shorncliffe and the inquest took place in Hougham.

There are reports and mentions in "The Times" (unconfirmed)
