1851 Census: A Challenge - Where is William Judge JAMES?

I would greatly appreciate a lookup in the 1851 census for William JAMES (aka William Judge JAMES) who was born abt 1793 in Oxfordshire, likely Oxford (based on the Oxford baptisms of his sisters, Mary and Harriet in 1790 and 1797, respectively).

The last fix I have in him was in 1841 when he was recorded as a printer living in Oxford:

His wife's name was Ann, b. 1793 Great Coxwell, Berks, but William is evidently not with her in Oxford in 1851, as turned up with my localized request on the Oxfordshire board:

He didn't die until 1858 in Oxford, so he is out there somewhere -- possibly mis-transcribed and probably not in Oxfordshire -- waiting for an expert sleuth to find him!

Many thanks, Bluie.  Does it give his place of birth?  Presumably Abingdon Oxford is the census location?  Does it say what institution he is an inmate of?   The plot thickens!!

I can see another William James, b. 1793 (+/- 2) in Oxfordshire, in the 1851 census index, but I don't have access.

Hi - me again

I don't think thats him - he is an imate of littlemore lunetic asylum - but the details given are that he was a labourer born in Woodley Berkshire - which is a long way from Oxford and we are looking for a printer

FOUND HIM!!!!!!

William James, 58, Printer Compositor, b. England (!!); lodging with the family of David Fleming, 49, Printer Compositor; at 28 Carnegie Street, Edinburgh St Cuthberts, Scotland. 

Looks like he was away from home in Oxford doing some printing work in, yes, Scotland.  Debbie: You were pretty close with your thoughts on a sabbatical.

Hi there Rthom my descendant is David Fleming whom william James is lodging with , and his family are all Printer Compositors or Stereotyper etc in the London Middlesex area , he had brothers Alexander , William Leslie and Charles all involved in and around the Printing trade
