Yes, I have the funeral notice. It was organised by Tobin brothers, 189 Boundary Rd. Anyone know if they are still there?

Hi liverpool lass

Obtaining the mothers death certificate, may prove very useful.  Australian Death certificates are very informative.  If one of the daughters or son-in-laws, provided the information, their full name will be listed on the certificate.

The Sunday Herald Sun - runs a desperately seeking column.  Their email address is seeking[at]sundayheraldsun.com.au.
They don't like attachments, and require a phone number or email address for publication.

What was the mother & fathers names?  Have you had his death notice checked?

Regards

Genni

Thanks all. I will try and contact the funeral directors. I haven't applied for a death cert yet but will think about it. Mother was Myfannwy Booth. Father died earlier , he was Ernest.

For your interest.
http://www.fcmp.com.au/
"Fawkner Cematoerium and Memorial Park .....advises that the cremated remains of
Myfanwy Booth aged 66 were removed from the cemetery"

Service was 21/8/1974

The helpful fact in this information is that they were 'removed' by someone, very likely a direct relative.

Possibly the cemetery will be able to reveal this to you.
Contact can be made for such information and the details are on this site.
