15th Hussars Private Wallace Godden
« on: Sunday 25 March 07 05:41 BST (UK) »
Hi,

I am searching for any information of the above man who, on the 1881 census of England was listed as a private in the 15th Hussars and was stationed at Shorncliffe Camp, Cheriton, Kent.  He was 21 years of age.

Could someone point me in the right direction to find out more details and these are the only facts I know, apart from the fact that I know Wallace Godden was in Australia from approximately 1889 to 1893.

Thanks in advance,

He's not on the Afghan War medal roll - could have been a new recruit.

Hi,

Thanks for the replies.  I don't think Wallace was in Australia whilst a member of the 15th Hussars, I think he had resigned by then.  His father died in 1887 and left him quite a bit of money so that may have something to do with it.  I know very little about him unfortunately and he has disappeared from Australia without trace and doesn't seem to have died in England either, a complete brick wall.
