Birth/Baptism of JANE PASSANT
« on: Monday 26 March 07 15:51 BST (UK) »
Hi

Can anyone help? I have been trying to find the birth/baptism details of my 2xgreat grandmother Jane Passant without success. On the census returns which I have checked Jane gives her birthplace as Westbury, Shropshire, and I believe that she was born about 1816. There are several Passant families in the parish registers to 1812, but until I know the name of Jane's father I am unable to establish which family she belonged to.
Any help gratefully received.

Do you have Jane's married name?

Wilson, by any chance?

If I'd read down the next couple of questions I might have found the answer!!!

Her fathers' name should be on the marriage certificate: Q2 1838, Atcham, Shropshire: vol 18, page 15.

Hi merc

Thanks for that. I did apply for the marriage certificate last year but it couldn't be found! Not sure what to do next.

Apply to the local register office not GRO for the Marriage Certificate.

Agreed.

Though, I have found problems with the local office. Enclose a letter with the application form giving all details known.
