Ordering BMD New Zealand Certificates

Has anyone in the UK ordered any New Zealand Birth, Marriage or Death certificates recently ?

What was the cost for the certificate in pounds ?

How was the certificate ordered post, telephone, email ?

 I am interested in ordering a death certificate for the year 1873. I have a burial date but not the exact date of death. What information will the NZ death certificate provide in the year 1873?

I can't help you with the latest exchange rates but I can tell you what will be on a Death certificate prior to 1876:

Place of Registration & No.
When & where died
Usual Residence
Full Name
Occupation
Sex & Age
Cause of death
Informant
Registrar & Date Registered.

From 1876 you get loads more info (almost a family history!)

Make sure you ask for the cheaper "printout" rather than the more expensive certificate as you will get a photocopy of the entry which has slightly more info than a certificate.

Shame levi didnt live until 1876 I would have been able to find out so much more about him.

Really desperate for details of his parentage and if any siblings.

they are talking about making it harder to get NZ certificates so I wouldnt waste time getting them, also if they came over on a ship (rather then a fishing boat) the find my past lot seem to have good records to find what ship they sailed on
