Hi frek, the company you are referring to is Mertz McLennan and they were Consulting Electrical Engineers and they were based in the Citadel Tower Block at Killingworth, (where Morrisons Supermarket is now),  They were Probably the biggest Electrical Consutancy in Britain and were I believe responsible for taking Electricity into Africa. regards Malcolm.

My father worked for them in the late 50s and 60s - big Power Station project in Joburg - seem to remember a big office in Esher too ?
