Michelle,

That explains the dual registration - I thought it was unusual.

He certainly seems to have made an impression in his life and has left a trail of records for you to find.

But, I'm afraid I'm totally confused with the dates in your previous posts.

Can you put them in order?

Hiya

So far what I know is

Thomas Barrett was born about 1848
He married on 9th Feb 1873
He died on 22 Feb 1873.

From the books they said it was on the "25th of april" when he did the brave act.
But he wasnt awarded the medal until 1901, and then his record from the DMP was transfered to the RIC between 30th april and 30 Aug 1922.

Where I got Kilbride from was the death notice in the freemans journal which said he was born in kilbride, and that he was 26 when he died.

Its all very confusing, when we were looking for him in the records we were looking for someone who was an ric member before 1873, as from other records (his marriage) I knew he was a police man. But then it turned out that he was only given his reference number in 1922 so it didnt match up to where i was looking for him.

Hope this helps
