Hello
Have you explored the various free sites for researching family history?
For birth registrations you can search Free BMD which is a transcription of the birth, marriage and death indexes.  It is not complete yet but is useful for starting your search and is easy to use
http://www.freebmd.org.uk/
If you can't find what looks like the right birth there you can search the full BMD indexes on ancestry - these are not transcriptions but films of the original BMD indexes and you have to search each quarter of each year for the surname you want.  It is not a database.
www.ancestry.co.uk

If you look at the beginners board on rootschat you will find a lot of other information that is very useful when you are starting out.

On this particular query, I can only find on Free BMD the Lizzie Plant found by Tati.  I think it would be worth you having a look at the full indexes on Ancestry as described above just to ensure that there are no better options.

Hope this helps.
