unsure of dates will have to speak to my rellie again and ask to see the medal.i know thomas had some dealings with cetaway(dont know correct spelling),and his many wives.thankyou all for all the info,need to digest it fully to know which is the best cause of action.thanks again.

If someone in the family has the medal, then Thomas' name, rank, service number and unit will be written around the medal rim.

That's the crucial information we need before we can tell you much more.

I'v had a look at the medal rolls for SA war 1877-8-9, for the 1st & 2nd Battalions of the 24th of Foot & its a big no for any Thomas Samuel.

i have actually seen the medal now,and the info in was given is a bit wrong,thanku all for the help y tried to give me.have now put up a new thread with the right info,i do so hope u can help me again.xx
