Mary Roberts

Trying to trace the death of a Mary Roberts, wife of Robert Roberts, they were living in Clynnogfawr in the late 1790s, but could possibly have moved, still in Caernarfonshire,  in the next ten years.

Sorry that's all I have to go on.

Pretty impossible to find a death or burial from the little information you have. I know the Clynnogfawr area pretty well having family there myself, and a large proportion of the inhabitants tended to stay in the parish for their whole lifetime. If they did move, I have found that many of them didn't stray very far, ending up in one of the neighbouring parishes, so your search could be limited to these.

If you know the name of the house/farm they were living at, then it could be easier to search the registers for this rather than Mary. Bear in mind that at this time, in rural North Wales, many women kept their maiden name, and Mary may well be in the register under this name.

Hi Keith,

Thanks for the advice - will look in surrounding parishes, and under her maiden name Parry.
