Full reference is HO107/2079 Folio 48 page 19 if anyone else wants to look.   I cannot make it out but I don't think it applies particularly to Alice.  It is in the address column and he has not put a street name on any page that I looked at.  Could it start with the sort of Q that was written as a 2? then "of"?? "man"?   Not a great deal of help.  Sorry.   Someone might be inspired!

Looks like "Queu of nol maid" to me - which makes no sense at all!

Seeing as the first entry is Sarah and she is listed as daughter.  Could it be - head of not home  ???

Looking at the other entries the word Head has a line through but in this case the word daughter has a line underneath.

Hiya,

the last three words look to me to be "of not marrd", that final "d" being elevated, indicating letters ommitted, in Scottish records you see "Mc" with the "c" elevated, indicating "Mac", or "Dond" with the "d" elevated indicating "Donald". So I'd read the three words as "of not married"

There is a hard stroke under the "daughter" s name above, did her age match as a possible mother of an illegitimate daughter?

All the best,

Dond

I think it reads   daughter of not married but he has abbreviated most of it.

dau  of not mar
