Stuck!! Edwards/Harris marriage in Abergavenny?
« on: Monday 02 April 07 00:49 BST (UK) »
Having had a stroll around these boards, I'm hoping some of you brilliant dectectives will be able to help me!

I can't seem to find the marriage between James Harris  and Judith Catherine Edwards c. 1835.

Their first child (that I know of) was William James Harris chr 4 Jun 1836 in St Peter & St Paul's, Bath, and the family lived at 1 Northampton St, Walcot, throughout most of the 19th century.

I have had no problems in finding them at all, but the marriage has had me stumped for years!

From the censuses Judith Catherine Edwards says she was born in Abergavenny c 1811 and James Harris, Hereford c 1801.

I have tried looking in the Hereford & Bath marriages with no success and the IGI, so Abergavenny is my last hope!

Can anyone help me?

Couldn't see a marriage in Monmouthshire that matched.

How about this one though:

Parish of Walcot St. Swithin

James Harris (Bach) to Judith Edwards (Spin) on 16/7/1835 by licence

Pritch19!!!! Thank you!!!!  :-*

I can't believe I missed it! I thought I'd gone through all the Bath area records with a fine toothed comb!

Did it give any other info, such as ages, occupations, witnesses etc?

Thank you once again! I was beginning to think they hadn't married at all!
