Johnson family

I have a Richard Johnson married to a Jane Marriner 1867 at St John's church Manchester. They have two children both born in Liverpool John Johnson 1869 and Maggie Johnson 1870.  Richard and Jane came from Arthuret area of Cumberland.  Jane's father is William Marriner and on the 1881 census he has the daughter living with him as both Jane and Andrew are dead by 1881. The son John is living in Manchester with his Aunt Elizabeth Pimlott. Richard's father is a John Jones Johnson farmer and it is this person I am interested in. I would like to know where he farmed and who Richard's mother is. Thanks Norma

Have you found them in 1871?  Can you quote that reference.  It would give us an idea of the age of Richard.  I am sure you can give more detail that will help.  Whose side is the aunt on?

Jane and the son John are on the 1871 census but Andrew is at sea, and Maggie is born after the census.  And the Aunt is Jane's sister.

Sorry.  Are we looking for Andrew Johnson or Richard Johnson?  Your post is not clear.  If Maggie is born after the census how can she be born 1870?
I have now found Jane and John in 1871.  Have you looked into the cousin, Martin Nelson, who is living with them?  I cannot really make out his place of birth but my daughter took one look and said Sweden!  That is an interesting thought..

Sorry Andrew Johnson is married to Jane Marriner and it is Andrew's father John Jones Johnson that I am looking for,  the Richard is for a different side of the family that I was looking at the same time, and yes Maggie was 1871 not 1870. John Jones Johnson is given as a farmer on Andrew and Jane's marriage certificate.  I don't think that the Martin Nelson is part of this family as Jane appears to be with a family called Galvin, which is where that relationship maybe.  Sorry about the mistake I really must try to do one thing at a time.  Norma
