Can anyone inform me what 'Brains Green' is or was?

According to Google its a village in Gloucestershire.

Brains Green is a hamlet on the lower slopes of Blakeney Hill, the main road through the area is the A48 Gloucester-South Wales road.  Travelling from Newnham in the direction of Blakeney, Brains Green is off to the right and Awre, where your Powell's came from, is to the left of the main road.
