I have a relation that lived in, Penydreslanthery (hope this is the correct spelling)Road,Newport,Monmouthshire,in 1908 ,Has anyone any idea where they would have been buried.
Someone in the family mentioned Oystermouth, but not living anywhere near it is a problem.
Many thanks Tsumi :)

Oystermouth is in Swansea,Glamorgan, next to Mumbles - long way to go for a funeral!

Hi Tsumi

Do you have their death certificate? that might give you an indication.

Don't rule out anywhere, if the family originally came from a certain place they may well have, for example taken a widow back to a place to be buried with her husband......

I live in Newport and I'm pretty sure that there was never a road with that name.

Could it be a house name followed by the name of the road?

Perhaps, 'Penydres' (?) Llanthewy Road?

The nearest cemetery to Llanthewy Road would be St Woolos Cemetery.  There are two large cemeteries in Newport but burial records for both are kept at St. Woolos.

Thanks very much for the info etc .The road name I am getting of the 1901 census and having looked at it, in hindsight with your 'Penydres' (?) Llanthewy Road, you are correct ...........
Thank you so much
