I am looking for any information about the Tuke family.  John Tuke and his wife Ann Robinet, they had a son John born 1836 who moved to England.  He married Mary Brown (nee Harrison)at Whitehaven, Cumberland in 1862 at and had 5 children.

Wow a name I am intrigued by so which John Tuke (son of who?) maried Ann Robinet /Robinnett Of all the John Tukes I have - I only have one born 1835 but he does not have the same parents as yours.
Would like ot know more of course

Cheers

A John Rothwell Tuke of Lr Baggot Street, Dublin died 21 Jan 1930 and was buried in Mount Jerome Graveyard.   He was apparently the eldest son of B B Tuke.

A marriage appears in St Peter's Church Dublin on 16 Feb 1865  between Mary Anne Tuke of Castlemacadam, Co Wicklow, a spinster and dau of George Tuke to William Rushell of Golden Ball, Kilternan.  A witness is listed James (or maybe Jack - the writing is unclear) Tuke  (Mary Anne signed the register as Marianne).

Cheers

Hello,
I've been using census records and birth records to fill out our family tree back as far as my great grandparents in Wicklow.

My great grandmother was Elizabeth Tuke, born around 1866 (possibly in Rathdrum) and she married Richard Mates in Rathdrum in 1985.     I would like to find out who her parents and siblings were, if possible.

My mother says that Elizabeth spoke of a sister Susan or Sis.  Of interest also is that Bitza's post earlier in this thread mentions family names that Elizabeth used for her children, Dorah, Jemima, Thomas, Benjamin, Susannah (Susan), so I have hopes that my family is connected.

I don't know how to proceed however, because although I have birth, marriage and death records, I don't have records that would connect people as family members.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Laurie

Hi

I've just come across this thread coincidental with receiving a copy of the memorial of a deed in which a possible ancestor of mine was involved.  The deed related to the lease of a farm in Meath owned by three sisters named Blossett, of London.  The lease was in favour of Francis Tuke of Drakestown, Co. Meath.  The lease was for thirty years and was dated 24th July 1764.  I don't know if this is useful information but Tuke is an unusual surname so it might just be relevant.
